What to Say If Someone Can No Longer

Afford to Work with You

What to Say If Your Client “Can’t Afford” You Anymore

This can be a challenging conversation because it’s likely that your client feels uncomfortable about canceling, guilty about ending things early, worried about how you might feel or embarrassed about their financial situation.

Your client might also feel very guarded. They may be telling themselves that they don’t want to back down or get convinced to stay. They may have promised a partner that they would cancel, even though they don’t want to, and feel conflicted about the whole situation.

And your client might also blame money for wanting to cancel when, underneath the money, there’s something else.

You are faced with a HUGE challenge. Can you be open, warm-hearted, and curious about your client?

Can you intend the VERY best for both you and your client?

If you can, your client will be much more likely to trust you enough to share what’s really going on. And in this space of trust, you can come to a decision that is aligned with the Highest Good.

And, if your client is just not open to any conversation, boldly release them and trust that another client will fill the vacuum this client left. Deep Breath...  Here goes...
